We’re on track to surpass our goal of $1,000. We exceeded our goal of 20 team members. We got some really great shirts made, if I do say so myself.
The Alzheimer’s Walk is a little over a week away and I’m excited to be a part of the event. I’m even more excited to share it with friends and family.
When I started this job in December and found that you’re given a choice to have some money from your paychecks go to a charity, I didn’t think twice about giving to the Alzheimer’s Association. And then I found out about this walk.
It’s an event I hope continues to grow and becomes as well-known and well-attended and well-received as Relay for Life. Because, like cancer, Alzheimer’s also needs a cure.
I’ve been a part of Relay for Life off and on since my freshman year of college. And it’s an amazing feeling to be part of something like that. Everyone is there for the same reason, to fight for an end to a disease that’s taken – or threatened to take – someone they love.
I’m hoping…no, I know the Alzheimer’s Walk will be the same. We all share the same dream and are working toward the same goal.
I know we will be a part of the event next year and in years to come. We will walk each year until there’s no reason for it to continue because the cure’s been found.
