If you know me at all you know that the title of this post is something that you’ll hear me say if you’re ever around me for, oh, about an hour. It’s from one of the best movies ever – I don’t care if you agree or not – The Sandlot. That movie features a scene with an amazing version of “America The Beautiful,” pretty appropriate considering what today is.
In honor of Independence Day, I hope you are celebrating America, and your freedom. Watch the Will Smith movie of the same name. Play with sparklers. Spend some time with your friends or family. Or, listen to a song that, every time I hear it – especially in the movie – never fails to give me goosebumps. And it makes me think of how lucky I am to live where I do, have what I have and for those who make sure it stays that way. Happy Birthday, America. You’re beautiful.
Oh, and also this. Because, come on. SANDLOT. How can you not like this movie?
